Pregnancy Brain and Cloth Diapering

I woke up this morning thinking I was 35 weeks, just to be let down by my baby app that I'm only 34 weeks and 3 days... bummer. When they say it moves slower at the end, they are definitely right. Even though the nursery is no where near done, I'm waiting on so much baby stuff to be shipped to me, and I still need to grab a few things, I'm completely ready for pregnancy to be over and motherhood to start. I can't keep track of anything anymore. My brain is like mush! I don't know what day it is, or what week I'm in; I have to write down everything or it will be forgotten, and to top it all off, I sleep like Sleeping Beauty! Carlos woke me up this afternoon and asked if I was dying. I'm losing it, guys...

Good thing though: I'll be full term in less than 2 weeks! I still can't believe it either.

Oh, so I wanted to explain that we have decided on using cloth diapers. Now I've gotten a lot of crap about this, which ticks me off a bit. You would think people would praise the fact I want to help the earth, it's better for my baby girl, and also save Carlos and myself some money. But instead, people are in total shock we're doing this and have been advising us not to do so. Yet still, I am. If it doesn't work out, then that's fine. But I can still say I tried, and to me, that's the most important thing.

Now, the brand I've decided is gDiapers. What made me choose them is that they give you options. For example: they have a disposable insert and a cloth insert. The disposable insert goes right into the reusable cover and when you remove it, you have the option to either flush it, throw it away, or "home garden" it. Either option you choose, it will eventually disintegrate unlike the disposable diapers now. They literally go right back into the earth. Whereas the popular brands like Huggies or Pampers, they stay in the ground for hundreds of years or have to be put in land minds. The cloth insert is basically a cloth diaper but they also have the cloth liners you put over the insert to make things a bit less messy.

I'll be trying both, of course. Hopefully I end up liking the cloth ones better. But we'll see.

And, the reusable covers are so cute! Really, just check out the site. They give you so much information; even videos!

*Note: I have not tried these yet. (Obviously, my little girl isn't even here yet.) But for anyone out there that's even thinking of using something other than the regular disposable diapers, just take a look at gDiapers. And I'll definitely be doing a review on cloth diapering and gDiapers themselves when I get the chance.

That's all for today!
